The Blood Unit is a Specialist Haematology Group Practice at Cabrini Medical Centre. Our Haematologists Dr Kirsten Herbert, A/Prof Melita Kenealy, Prof Michael Dickinson and A/Prof Max Wolf, run a comprehensive, evidence based service to patients with a wide variety of blood conditions.
The Blood Unit provides:
- Prompt access to Outpatient Haematology Appointments with extended consulting sessions at Cabrini Malvern and Cabrini Brighton and Cabrini Hawthorn East.
- A new fortnightly ward service roster with daily consultant ward rounds and improved continuity of care.
- A focus on evidence based practice, quality of communication and follow up.
- Our Specialist Haematology Nurse for inpatient education, and ongoing outpatient after-care, education and support.
Our Specialist Haematologists practice at Cabrini Malvern, Cabrini Brighton and Cabrini Hawthorn East with key academic and service provision links to Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
