The Haematologists within The Blood Unit each have an active role in clinical research. Clinical trials at Cabrini are run through the Clinical Trials Unit at the Cabrini Institute. The Clinical Trials unit at Cabrini is staffed by numerous specialist trials nurses who assist in patient evaluations, consent procedures, bookings and are available to provide information to patients and their doctors, when clinical trial participation is either being considered, or is underway.
All clinical trials at Cabrini are run according to Good Clinical Practice, and all are approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee at Cabrini. Participation in a clinical trial may be discussed with you, and written information will be provided regarding any trial under consideration. We encourage you to discuss this information with your family and your primary care physician, in order to make an informed decision about participation.
